Centro de Periodismo Investigativo (Center of Investigative Journalism in English) is the only non-profit focused on fact-checking and auditing of public information in Puerto Rico. It’s an independent and unbiased platform that doesn’t respond to any political or commercial interest. It aims to bring transparency and free access to information. For their 10th anniversary in 2017, we designed a new brand identity for CPI. We were looking to evoke the revelatory effect that their stories have had for the past 9 years, as well as highlight the reputation they have acquired as a result of their professionalism, trustworthy investigative journalism, and commitment to democracy. Three years later, the CPI is recognized as an award-winning journalism powerhouse, with some of the most impactful investigations in Puerto Rico’s recent history (#RickyLeaks, Los Chavos de María, the COVID-19 coverage, etc). As a result, its visual identity and language has developed prominence among other media outlets, brands and audiences.
